Another old topic here, but it could have been from yesterday based on what was learned from the outcome of the TV segment that I will soon reference. Let me set the scene:
- Cord not yet cut
- Wife watching E!
- Correction: Husband watching E!
- Segment on Zac Efron’s marital status entitled, So True, So False.
First off, yes, I had to look up how to spell “Zac.” Secondly, if you do a quick Google search of the title of this blog, it turns out that this is not the only time that E! has taken time out of its viewer(‘s) day to monitor all of Zac Efron’s movements. Although tantalizing, I will not give E! my clicks, so I will only have to assume that each of these segments ended with the same vague, climactic non-answer that I will now share with you.
Let’s just get to the point.
I like Zac Efron. I am not fond of E Exclamation Point. However, my sample size is limited with E! In fact, it is limited to a segment on Zac Efron entitled So True, So False. Nothing was gained by the viewers or the hosts with this story. The topic at hand lasted about as long as it takes for you to realize that in the prior sentence, I typed “hosts” in the plural form, meaning that it was all hands on deck for this breaking news. The end “result” had the hosts shrugging saying that they didn’t know if Zac was married… and then they moved on! How can you have a segment asking a question, provide information on said subject, and then not provide an answer? This does not seem like the network is giving its audience what it wants. Or maybe they are providing the inane background noise that their target demographic needs while scrolling through the gram.
Were the show’s producers satisfied? It could be argued that the network was not even satisfied. Of course they just need to fill dead air with more dead air to get high fives all around, so I could see both arguments on this one.
I was left asking my wife what the hell we just watched and she just simply looked up at me from her phone and said, “Sorry, I was on Instagram, what was it?”
A quick note of advice: When you inevitably find yourself searching for Zac Efron images on Google in the middle of the day at a public library, be sure to make eye contact with the people that notice that you are scrolling through shirtless photos of Zac Efron in the middle of the day at a public library.
